This semester in Anatomy and Physiology, we are implementing 20% of our time in order to pursue a project of our choice to achieve a specific end goal. This project, entitled 20 Time, was originally created by Google to provide employees with the opportunity to create a project regarding his or her interests; this has sparked the creation of Google News and Gmail.
After being introduced to the project, I decided that I wanted my project to be environment related; last year, I took APES, and the class exposed me to a plethora of environmental problems including extinction and resource depletion, which made me realize that many of the world's environmental problems stem from producing ample amounts of trash or from being unable to recycle or reuse objects. Combined with my passion for art, I intend on repurposing various materials (e.g. water bottles to an old ladder) into usable objects or an item that may be appealing to look at.
I think it's great that you will be creating artwork! Maybe include a description of each piece that you create and how it correlates to an environmental issue? can't wait to see your creations!
ReplyDeleteI like this idea, there are a lot of environmental issues and recycling is really important, its cool that your using art as a way to get your word out. Are you going to be posting your art any where else besides your blog?
ReplyDeleteThis is a very important and relevant topic. I'm still a little unclear what you'll be doing. Are you going to do something on campus to reduce waste, increase recycling, or something else. Be really clear with the specific impact you want to make, all of which is part of the bigger issue of resource depletion and waste. What's an issue on campus that you feel you can make a difference related to this topic.
